The ISCT Technologist Training Course is a one-day event hosted at the ISCT North America Regional Meeting on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

This course aims to provide technologists and laboratory professionals with fundamental training in cell product manufacturing, including collections, QC/QA, regulatory, distribution logistics, devices and insights into working with industry partners. 

Tailored to the specific needs of laboratory professionals, the course is broken into two tracks:

• Introduction to Cell Therapy Manufacturing - Vein to Vein
• Cell Therapy Manufacturing - Bench to Bedside

Track one: Introduction to Cell Therapy Manufacturing - 

Vein to Vein

Designed for any beginners to the CGT field to learn the basics of manufacturing a cell therapy treatment.

• Collections.
• Processing and QC.
• Quality Assurance/Regulatory.
• Product Storage, Distribution & Logistics.
• Roundtable Discussions with CGT Experts.

Track two: Cell Therapy Manufacturing - Bench to Bedside

Designed for experienced CGT staff and lab managers to learn topics related to process validation and manufacturing.

• Developing a CAR-T Program.
• Developing a Validated Assay That Will Please the FDA.
• Role of Manufacturing in Regulatory Submissions.
• Cryopreservation, Stability, and Thawing.
• Roundtable Discussions with CGT Experts.

Learning outcome:

• Apply best practices for sample collection, processing and storage.
• Understand the QA and Regulatory requirements for CGT products. 
• Understand the workflow for developing a CAR-T program.
• Know the critical path and steps to translate process development into GMP production.
