ISCT Launches Expert Hands-On Laboratory Bootcamp for Cell Therapy Biomanufacturing at Stanford LCGM

The ISCT Institute of Training & Development is excited to announce the launch of its third U.S. hands-on lab training site in partnership with the Stanford Laboratory for Cell and Gene Medicine (LCGM), a premier GMP manufacturing facility in Palo Alto, California, USA.

Launching Spring 2026, the five-day immersive bootcamp offers expert-led, practical training across the full GMP cell manufacturing workflow, from cell culture initiation to scale-up, in-process control, and final product characterization using real cell products and platform-agnostic equipment in a GMP environment.

Whether you are new to GMP, a research scientist seeking advanced skills or a clinician aiming to gain GMP experience and insights, this course offers practical, hands-on laboratory experience and best practices to ensure consistent, reproducible, and GMP-compliant cell products.

“We’re proud to partner with a leading global institution like Stanford to deliver top-quality, accredited training,” said Mike Bromilow, Business Unit Leader at ISCT’s Institute for Training & Development. “This collaboration reflects the leadership and expertise both organizations bring to advancing cell and gene therapy worldwide, and ultimately, to empowering the learners who will drive the field forward.”

“At Stanford LCGM, our training programs are designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to enter or advance in the workforce,” said Dr. Steven Feldman, Site Head and Scientific Director, Stanford LCGM. “The collaboration with ISCT facilitates experiential training programs to deliver hands-on experience and learn from reputed scientists doing cutting edge work in the growing cell and gene therapy field.”

ISCT’s partnership with Stanford LCGM reflects our commitment to building a globally harmonized cell and gene therapy workforce. By expanding access to accredited, hands-on training recognized across the industry, we’re empowering professionals with the technical skills and credibility needed to excel in a competitive CGT landscape.

About Stanford LCGM

Stanford Laboratory for Cell and Gene Medicine (LCGM) is a FACT accredited multi-product manufacturing facility that develops cell and gene-based therapies in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) under FDA regulations. The LCGM mission is to develop innovative manufacturing platforms for the GMP manufacture of cell and gene therapy products to bridge the “bench to bedside” gap for treating patients with large unmet medical needs.

The LCGM facility supports clinical investigators during early phase, pre-clinical development through clinical manufacturing for first in-human therapies. The LCGM’s manufacturing expertise spans the panoply of gene therapy approaches including CAR-T therapies, allogeneic CAR-T therapies, novel approaches to hematopoietic stem cell transplant, genome editing of hematopoietic stem cells, and genetically manipulated and un-manipulated T-cell therapies for immune modulation.

Located in the bustling Silicon Valley, the LCGM’s current 30,000 sq. ft facility located at 855 California Avenue in Palo Alto includes 6 cleanrooms for cell manufacturing and 3 cleanrooms for vector manufacturing with state-of-art equipment, as well as dedicated space for process development, materials storage, QC laboratory and administrative functions.

The LCGM has a proven track record of advancing cell and gene-based therapies through early-stage clinical development, from vector and process development through Phase I/II clinical trials. Since its inception in 2016, the LCGM has provided an end-to-end manufacturing solution for our academic and industry partners. Specifically, the LCGM’s core competencies and capabilities include: (1) Vector Development & Manufacturing; (2) Process Development; (3) Technology Transfer; (4) GMP Manufacturing for IND-Enabling Preclinical Studies; (5) GMP Manufacturing for Phase I/II Clinical Trials; (6) Regulatory and Quality System Infrastructure; and (7) GMP Consulting support during pre-technology transfer activity

Progress in the rapidly growing cell and gene therapy (CGT) field continues to be limited by a shortage of trained and skilled individuals in current good manufacturing to support and meet the demands of this growing industry. The mission of the Stanford Laboratory for Cell and Gene Medicine (LCGM) education and training programs is to enrich and grow the workforce in cell and gene therapy biomanufacturing by providing foundational instruction and on-the-job opportunities. The hands-on lab training program in partnership with ISCT is designed to provide practical hands-on training from GMP experts to train and support the next generation of cell and gene therapy experts.

“At Stanford LCGM, our training programs are designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to enter or advance in the workforce. Gain hands-on experience and learn from reputed scientists doing cutting edge work in the growing cell and gene therapy field.” Dr. Steven Feldman, Site Head and Scientific Director, Stanford LCGM
