Cell and Gene Therapy Outreach and Education Resource Hub: Ignite discovery, inspire curiosity

As members of the Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) community, we’re often asked to deliver talks at schools, or prepare science experiments for outreach initiatives. Sometimes, these requests are even part of our job description, since sharing science with the general public (and kids in particular) has a key role in disseminating results, improving scientific literacy and engaging with the community. While many of us enjoy participating in outreach, it is often challenging to find the time to properly prepare talks and activities. If that sounds relatable, don’t worry, we got you!

The Community Engagement working group, as part of the ISCT Early Stage Professionals (ESP) Committee, has developed a collection of educational resources where you’ll find a range of helpful tools and inspiration to fit any outreach occasion. This resource hub targets preschool to high school students with an emphasis on CGT topic.

The collection is organized by age (< 4 years, 4 – 8 years, 8 – 12 years, >12 years) and by type of resource, such as books, videos, experiments, films, games, science exhibitions, documentaries and much more! We’ve even included science kits for extracting DNA or determining your blood group! You’ll find easy-to-access links and instructions, and some resources are available in languages other than English.
This is an exclusive member-only benefit designed to facilitate ISCT members to engage with young scientists in their communities. Our aim is to equip CGT educators and mentors with a range of resources that can form the basis of your outreach events.

So, if you‘re gearing up for an activity, or just keen to inspire budding biological detectives, follow this link to find out more!
