A Year Under the Microscope in Six Images and a Quiz

Since 2020, the Telegraft publishes every other month a section entitled “Under the microscope” (UTM) to introduce cells, subcellular components, and cellular products of translational interest to the field of cell and gene therapy. This last year we enjoyed high quality contributions from Australia, Singapore, Spain and USA presenting the What, Who, Where, …and some curiosities not only of cells (including pathogen specific T cells, pericytes, and pluripotent stem cell-derived pancreatic islet cells) but also complex cellular organised mini-tissues called organoids and tools for scale up manufacture of adherent cells (microcarriers).

Every UTM article starts with an image showcasing the favourite cell type of the contributing authors. These are some of the most beautiful images we published in 2023. Can you identify the different cell types and answer the questions on each?
