The International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT) is pleased to announce its partnership with the Standards Coordinating Body (SCB) to launch the Implementation of the ISO Cell Counting Standards distance-learning course. This comprehensive course was developed with input from the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), including NIST, FDA, and device manufacturers, who created the ISO 20391-1:2018 (Part 1) and ISO 20391-2:2019 (Part 2) Standards.

By participating in this course, you will gain a fundamental understanding of cell counting terminology, methods, reporting, processes for cell counts, sample selection, and data analysis. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to learn from experts how to apply the principles of quality indicators for evaluating your cell counting measurement process. Additionally,  all participants will receive an electronic copy of ISO 20391-1:2018 (Part 1) and ISO 20391-2:2019 (Part 2) Standards upon completion of the course.

Upon completing this course, you will have the confidence and knowledge to implement ISO Cell Counting Standards and utilize consensus standards in the regulatory process. This will not only enhance the quality and comparability of your cell counting process but also potentially expedite your regulatory review process.

The collaboration between ISCT and SCB brings together expertise and resources from both organizations to deliver a comprehensive and insightful learning experience. “We are excited about the potential impact this course can have on industry practices and we encourage you to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to implement these standards in your workflow,” said Raymond Lam, Associate Director for Workforce Development and Training at ISCT.
