Objectives - After Attending This Program You Should Be Able To

  1. Identify the scientific, clinical, laboratory, technology, funding and regulatory issues related to specific types of cell-based research/therapy. Demonstrate cross-disciplinary participation from clinicians, laboratory personnel, regulatory professionals, scientists, technology and business experts from both academia and industry.
  2. Describe the translational aspects of and issues involved with cell and tissue-based therapies. Translate information and experience from more mature cellular therapy areas such as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation to emerging applications including non-hematopoietic indications.
  3. Promote the transfer of information and experience from senior practitioners to young scientists in the field. Advance rigorous evaluation of quality, safety and efficacy of novel cellular, gene-modified cell and tissue-based therapies.

CMLE - Continuing Medical Laboratory Education  

CONTINUING MEDICAL LABORATORY EDUCATION (CMLE) CREDITS

The continuing medical laboratory education activity is recognized by the American Society for Clinical Pathology as meeting the criteria for a maximum of 23.5 hours of CMLE credits. ASCP CMLE credit hours are acceptable to meet the continuing education requirements for the ASCP Board of Registry Certification Maintenance Program.
