For our June Member Spotlight, Telegraft editor Dr. Ashley Krull, Ph.D., had the opportunity to conduct a special live interview at the 2024 ISCT Annual Meeting that took place in Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Krull spoke with a newcomer to the ISCT scene, Caroline Rulleau Hared, MSc, winner of the Early Stage Professional, Canadian Abstract Award. Caroline received this award during her very first ISCT meeting – an impressive feat! During their conversation, Caroline shared details of the studies behind her award-winning abstract entitled “Comprehensive Assessment of Premanufacture T Cells Identifies Functional Defects Among Non-responders to CAR-T Cell Therapy.” These studies are part of Caroline’s doctoral work at the University of Montreal and Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Research Center. In her conversation with Dr. Krull, Caroline details how samples were sourced, shares her award-winning findings, and discusses next steps to potentially rectify functional defects and improve patient responses. Enjoy this discussion with a bright new ESP in ISCT!
